Sections
Add sections to any page with Add section in the theme editor. Drag sections to reorder them, and use the eye icon to hide one without deleting it.
Settings every section shares#
Most sections have a Section style group with Color scheme, Show divider (a line above the section), Top padding and Bottom padding. Many also have a Subheading, Heading and Text, and a Link label and Link shown beside the heading.
Sections you can add#

| Slideshow | Large images or videos, each with a subheading, heading and button. Add up to four Collection shortcut blocks to show collection thumbnails in the corner on screens 1200 px and wider. Slides change automatically every few seconds (Change slides automatically, Change slides every); a pause button is always shown, and slides don't change for visitors who prefer reduced motion. A video slide stays on screen for the length of the video. |
| Featured collection | Products from a collection as a Carousel or Grid. Show product type filter adds buttons that filter the products by type. |
| Collection list | Collection tiles. Each Collection block can use its own image and title. Show numbers numbers the tiles. |
| Image with products | A lifestyle image beside a few products. Show price filter adds price ranges built from Price filter steps: for example, 50, 100 shows Under $50, $50–$100 and $100+. |
| Featured product | One product with its media, options and buy buttons, so customers can buy without leaving the page. |

Images#
- Upload images at least 2000 px wide for full-width sections. Oriel serves smaller versions to smaller screens, so large uploads don't slow your store down.
- Set a focal point on an image in Shopify admin to keep the important part in view when the image is cropped.
- Add alt text to images in Content > Files or on the product. Images without alt text are treated as decorative, so screen readers skip them.
